About 20 years ago, dissatisfied with my workout routine and talking about it with Heather, I decided to try and see how Personal Training would work.  By my reckoning, I volunteered to be Heather’s first PT client.  At that time, we started with a fitness assessment, and despite being a serious runner and a weight trainer, her numbers came out that I weighed a little over 223, and had a body composition of around 43% body fat.   In the past 20 years, Heather and I have trained together roughly twice a week, as well as having her do assessments of my diet and exercise outside of our personal training sessions.  As of this year, I weigh ≈195 pounds, and <14% body fat – to highlight that with some math, in 20 years, I have gone from around 95 pounds of body fat to around 27 pounds of body fat, and put on 38 pounds of lean muscle. I will celebrate my 74th birthday in October, and given that in my previous 30+ years of working out on my own, I never had results like that, I think it’s clear that Heather’s tutelage has played a most significant part in that transformation.  In addition to usual workouts, I was promoted to 1st Degree Black Belt in Kuk Sool, a Korean mixed martial art just short of my 70th birthday.  Although no one keeps super close statistics, the general consensus is that I’m one of the oldest (if not the oldest) person to be awarded a 1st Degree Black Belt.  Heather’s counsel over the 11 years I was working on that curriculum, including suggesting different stretch protocols, helping me recover from injuries and surgeries, has been invaluable.  I don’t care how old you are, if you’re looking at this and want to make the commitment to Heather, I can tell you it will work wonders!

Heather spent over 30 years as an engineer at NASA, developing spaceflight systems to help humans thrive in space. Today, she helps people thrive on Earth through personalized and group exercise programming, and health and wellness coaching. As a certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor, health coach, and menopause coaching specialist, Heather works with clients of all backgrounds to build strength, resilience, and lifelong health. She combines evidence-based tools with empathy and strategy to help clients feel confident and in control of their wellness journey.
